ASSURE MODEL LESSON PLAN

During this week of classes we learnt about the  A- Analyze Learners
                                                                              S- Standards and Objectives
                                                                              S- Select Appropriate Methods, Media and Materials
                                                                              U- Utilize Media and Materials
                                                                              R- Require Learner Participation
                                                                              E- Evaluate and Revise
                                                                         
                                                                             MODEL. The Assure Model of Lesson Planning is designed in the 21st century. It helps teachers to utilize technology to help problem solving.

 The Assure Model comprises of 6 components:

1. Analyze Learners- this is a big target of the Assure Model, it can be done by pre testing the students and using the learner style survey for example the VARK Questionnaire.

2. The Objectives need to be specific and measured. Whenever writing a lesson plan the three aspects in which you can base your objectives on are skills, knowledge and attitudes. Aim to write at least three objectives when writing a lesson plan.

3. Selecting appropriate media and materials. The media is what conveys the message for example videos, people, images etc. Materials will be such as laptops, projectors, desks, chairs, handouts etc.

4. Utilize Media and Materials. This demonstrates how you will utilize the appropriate methods, it helps the teacher to prepare the media with the 5p's

5. Requiring Learner Participation. This determines if students will be working in groups or doing projects together.

6. Evaluation and Revision. Teachers reflect on the lesson too see what did and did not worked.

I have learnt alot about the Assure Model of Lesson Planning as this is new information to me. This is a great benefit for me, I can now further reach my students when conducting a lesson.

We had to create an Assure Model Lesson Plan. It was challenging for me because it was my first time writing a lesson plan in the assure model way as this is all new to me. I had to make sure that everything was clear and precise.
