Introduction to the Internet

Here comes week two running coming, we did a lot of definitions and examples. We looked at fair use, malware, virus, synchronous, asynchronous, social bookmarking, advanced search etc. This was indeed a lot of information to take in and remember. We also focused on the Internet vs. World Wide Web.

We also looked at Netiquette . I know you may be saying...

Netiquette is the correct or acceptable way of using the internet. It simply means the use of good manners in online conversations for eg. email. forums etc.

We also learnt how to create our own signature on gmail, the task was 

Step 1:  Go to setting which is on the right hand side and click settings.

Step 2:  Scroll right down to the bottom until you see signature.

Step 3:  Insert your own signature and then when finish click save changes.

In completing this task, there was no challenge at all. I have found the creating of the signature useful because I do not have to keep writing my signature whenever sending emails as it will already be there. I would incorporate this in my lesson when showing students how to write a gmail message in a Netiquette way.
